Mike & May

Mike and May are passionate about developing and educating horses and riders for nearly all events.  By understanding the goals and strengths of each rider and horse, they develop individualized programs to enable each equine team to reach their highest potential while keeping the horses’ health and well-being a priority.  Their barn consists of youth, amateurs, select amateurs and novices who enjoy learning and showing.

Their students have achieved AQHA and AQHYA World Show placings in Showmanship, Performance Halter, Hunter Under Saddle, Hunt Seat Equitation, Western Horsemanship, Western Pleasure, Western Riding, Trail, Working Cow Horse, and Reining.  Students have also earned All-Around Awards at the largest circuits on the West Coast. In addition to their AQHA clientele, Mike and May have coached riders to achieve their dreams at the APHA World Show, Arabian and Half Arabian Regional Championships.

Mike and May set their students up for success in and outside the arena. By staying actively involved in the youth associations and nurturing strong work ethics, several of their youth riders have continued their passion of riding by competing on Equestrian Teams at Baylor University, University of Georgia and Texas A&M.  Additionally, five of their students have been awarded NCAA Equestrian Scholarships.

Both AQHA Professional Horsemen, Mike and May are dedicated to continually learning and evolving their training practices to help best meet the needs of their riders and horses.  In their privately owned and operated training facility in Monroe, Washington, they provide a full service training and showing program that is capable of meeting any client’s needs. They also offer haul-in lessons and clinics and aside from training and coaching, Mike is a carded AQHA, NRCHA and ABRA Judge and May enjoys judging locally.
